"Whoever has a bountiful eye will be blessed, for he shares his bread with the poor" (Prov. 22:9). Help Provide Lunches for the Homeless - Friday, May12, 2023. Click Here for Details.
"But if anyone has the world's goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God's love abide in him? Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth". (I John 3:17-18)
"But when you give a feast, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you. For you will be repaid at the resurrection of the just.” (Luke 14:13-14)
Our church will be making Lunches for the Homeless on Friday, May 12, 2023, at 12:00 noon. We are asking for volunteers to come down to the church hall to make 240 sandwiches and to help assemble the bags.
These lunch bags will be delivered on Saturday, May 13th to the Neighborhood Resilience Program (formally FOCUS) in the Hill District. We are required to have 120 of each of the following items:
-Soda
-Fruit (apples/mandarins)
-Snacks (chips/pretzels, etc.)
-Individually wrapped Cookie or Cake
-Puddings
-25 loaves of bread (Aldis).
If you would like to donate any of these items, please use the sign-up sheet in the church hall with your name, the item and the quantity.
If you cannot donate material goods, please, donate your time and kindness to these "the least of (our) brothers" (Matt 25:40)
If you have any questions, please see Cathy Pawlik or Cheryl Tomko.
